چکیده

Solid state recycling (SSR) is a new approach for making metals more efficient with respect to remelting-based approaches. Friction stir consolidation (FSC) solid-state process that employed recycle metallic scraps. Until now, single-step FSC was applied recycled metal chips. During the approach, critical processes parameters, especially processing time and rotational speed, are considered vital control quality mechanical properties of billet. However, effectiveness parameters highly restricted by challenging masses chips machine competency. The present study first highlights issues process, such as unconsolidated billet poor at bottom part, i.e., far away from stirring action. Then, time, three different two-step methods were introduced approaches overcome existing challenges method. these evaluated through Vickers hardness measurements, microstructure analysis. results showed successfully led fully consolidated considerably improved properties.

Development of mathematical model to predict the mechanical properties of friction stir welded AA6351 aluminum alloy

This paper presents a systematic approach to develop the mathematical model for predicting the ultimate tensile strength, yield strength, and percentage of elongation of AA6351 aluminum alloy which is widely used in automotive, aircraft and defense Industries by incorporating (FSW) friction stir welding process parameter such as tool rotational speed, welding speed, and axial force. FSW has bee...

Multi-Track Friction Stir Lap Welding of 2024 Aluminum Alloy: Processing, Microstructure and Mechanical Properties

Friction stir lap welding (FSLW) raises the possibility of fabricating high-performance aluminum components at low cost and high efficiency. In this study, we mainly applied FSLW to fabricate multi-track 2024 aluminum alloy without using tool tilt angle, which is important for obtaining defect-free joint but significantly increases equipment cost. Firstly, systematic single-track FSLW experimen...

Spark Plasma Sintering As a Solid-State Recycling Technique: The Case of Aluminum Alloy Scrap Consolidation

Recently, "meltless" recycling techniques have been presented for the light metals category, targeting both energy and material savings by bypassing the final recycling step of remelting. In this context, the use of spark plasma sintering (SPS) is proposed in this paper as a novel solid-state recycling technique. The objective is two-fold: (I) to prove the technical feasibility of this approach...

Analysis and Comparison of Friction Stir Welding and Laser Assisted Friction Stir Welding of Aluminum Alloy

Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a solid-state joining process; i.e., no melting occurs. The welding process is promoted by the rotation and translation of an axis-symmetric non-consumable tool along the weld centerline. Thus, the FSW process is performed at much lower temperatures than conventional fusion welding, nevertheless it has some disadvantages. Laser Assisted Friction Stir Welding (LAFS...

The Mechanical Properties Evaluation of the Welded Sheets of AA 3105 Aluminum Alloy Using Friction Stir Spot Welding (FSSW)

Friction stir spot welding (FSSW) is a type of solid state welding that is used in the connection of small pieces and light metals such as aluminum alloy especially. The technical problem during melting of aluminum alloys is one of the most important reasons for developing application of friction stir welding for aluminum alloys. In this research, the effects of important processing parameters ...
